Arriving at Bhoke Railway Station

The
Deccan Odyssey arrives at the Bhoke Railway Station at 07.40 hrs. Breakfast
is served on board. Thereafter, tourists are boarded on an AC luxury bus and
transferred to Rai Jetty from where they will start exploring this small
beautiful place. The short journey to Rai Jetty is in itself extremely
enjoyable.
About Ganaptiphule
Situated along the western coast of Maharashtra, Ganapatiphule is one of
the 'Ashta Ganapatis' of India. Also known as the 'Pashim Dwar Dewata' or
the Western Sentinel God, Ganapatiphule is a place where religion and
relaxation mix together to provide a thrilling combination for tourists to

Morning Sightseeing
» Jaigadh Fort - This is the first place tourists
will visit on their sojourn to western part of India. After alighting from
the AC bus at Rao Bhatagaon Jetty, tourists board a boat to reach the
Jaigadh Jetty (at the foothills of Jaigadh fort). The journey through the
backwaters with a number of birds keeping company with the tourists, is
absolutely mesmerising. Tourists also get a glimpse of the Konkan village
life which would otherwise have been difficult to see. Jaigadh fort,
standing impressively on the top of a cliff provides a bird's eye view of
the ocean and the Ganapatiphule from the top.

Ganapatiphule Resort - After the Jaigadh fort, tourists are taken to the
white sandy beaches of the Ganapatiphule resort. The journey to the resort,
again, is a fantastic experience with abundant greenery and simplistic
lifestyle of the people presenting soothing views. With an intoxicating
fragrance of fruits, flowers and mangroves floating in the air, the
Ganpatiphule beach is a wonderful place to enjoy the natural beauty of the
place. Tourists can enjoy a cultural programme at the Ganpatiphule beach
resort and get to know more about the place and its art forms.
» Lunch - Tourists are treated with sumptous Konkan
cuisine and later they are left for sometime to enjoy the surrounding beauty
in peace.
Post Lunch Sightseeing
» Lord Ganesha Temple -This is the most importanat
temple of the place having a Swayambhoo (or naturally made) idol of Lord
Ganesha. The temple which is believed to be around 400 years old, is
thronged by devotees in large numbers.

Late in the afternoon, tourists are boarded on the luxury bus and taken to
the Ratnagiri Railway Station. The train proceeds towards its next
destination, Sindhudurg. Dinner is served on board.

At
08.25 hrs, the Deccan Odyssey arrives at the Sindhudurg Nagari Railway
Station. Breakfast is served on board. Thereafter tourists are transferred
to an AC bus to visit the attractions for the rest of the day.
About Sindhudurg and Tarkarli Backwaters
Sindhudurg is the standing reminder of the martial supremacy wielded by
Maharashtra during the rule of the great Chhatrapati Shivaji. It was the
naval base of the Maratha leader.
Tarkarli is situated around 546 km away from the commercial capital of
India, Mumbai. The place is well known for its beautiful narrow beach and
pristine water.
Morning Sightseeing
» Sindhudurg Fort - After alighting from the bus at
Malvan Jetty, a boat cruise takes tourists to the Sindhudurg Fort. Built by
the hard labour of around 6000 workers, this fort took almost three years to
complete. However, after its completion, and infact till date, it is the
most impressive fort around. Within the fort premises, there are numerous
structures that behold the attention of visitors. These include temples
dedicated to Bhavani, Mahadeo, Jarimari, Mahapurush and Shivaji. Enroute to
Sindhudurg fort, the journey is relaxing.

Tarkarli Beach - After visiting the impressive Sindhudurg fort, tourists
are taken to the Tarkarli beach by the bus. Tarkarli beach is located at a
point where the river Karli joins the Arabian Sea. Tourists can take a walk
on the soft sand of the beach with sparkling water of the sea, mini islands
and wide river boosting the spirit of the tourists. The beach resort
provides entertainment in the form of a cultural programme.
» Lunch - Enjoy a delicious lunch at the beach
resort and then spend some free time at the beach doing absolutely nothing
at all.
Post Lunch Sightseeing
» Tarkarli Backwaters - It is time to set out again
and discover some of the most beautiful places in the region. Tourists are
transferred to the Tarkarli Jetty by bus. Therefrom, they explore the region
on a boat for almost an hour before they reach the Walaval Jetty. The boat
ride in the Tarkarli backwaters is one of the those experiences for the
tourists that will stay in their mind long after their trip is over.
» Arrival in Sawantwadi - The luxury bus brings
tourists to Sawantwadi at around 16.30 hrs.
» About Sawantwadi - Sawantwadi city is at the
southernmost point of Sindhudurg. It is the gateway to Goa from the Konkan
region. The erstwhile capital of an estate, Sawanwadi houses two gardens,
Chitar Ali and Jagannath Rao Bhosale Garden.
Evening Sightseeing
» Shilp Gram - Shilp Gram is a handicraft village
where tourists can not only pick up few momentos, but they can actually
watch the craftsmen at work.
More art form of Sawantwadi is displayed later on with a cutural show
presented before the tourists.
Back to the Deccan Odyssey
Tourists are brought to the Sawantwadi Railway Station where they board the
Deccan Odyssey. Traditional Dinner is served on board. The train moves to
its next destination, Goa at 1915 hrs.
