Day 01 : Mumbai
The train departs from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at around 16.40
hrs. Dinner is served on board.
Day 02 : Jaigadh - Ganapatiphule - Ratnagiri
The Deccan Odyssey arrives at the Bhoke Railway Station at 07.40 hrs.
Breakfast is served on board. Visit the Jaigadh Fort and enjoy the serene
beauty of the Ganapatiphule beach. Watch a cultural programme at the
Ganapatiphule Beach Resort. Later, relish a sumptous Konkani cuisine and
spend some time relaxing on the Ganapatiphule beach. Visit the Lord Ganesha
Temple and depart for Ratnagiri at 15.45 hrs. Return to the Deccan Odyssey
at around 16.45 hrs and head towards the next destination - Sindhudurg at
17.00 hrs. Dinner is served on board.
Day 03 : Sindhudurg - Tarkarli Backwaters -
Sawantwadi
At 0825 hrs, the Deccan Odyssey arrives at the Sindhudurg Nagari Railway
Station. Breakfast is served on board. Visit the Sindhudurg Fort at 09.30
hrs and enjoy a walk on the Tarkarli beach at 12.00 hrs. Enjoy a delicious
lunch at the beach resort and then spend some free time at the beach doing
absolutely nothing at all. Post lunch, enjoy a trip down the Trakarli
Backwaters. At around 16.30 hrs, the luxury bus brings tourists to
Sawantwadi. Visit the Shilpgram, the crafts village to watch the workmen at
work. Also pick up some beautiful handicraft items. Return back to the
Sawantwadi Railway Station at around 19.30 hrs and leave for the next
destination, Goa. Dinner is served on board.
Day
04 : Goa
The train arrives in Goa at around 07.30 hrs. Breakfast is served on board.
Thereafter, tourists are taken to explore some of the most famous places in
the Goa like the Basilica of Born Jesus Church, Se Cathedral, Church of St
Francis of Assisi and Panjim. Taste some of the exotic Goan dishes at a
South Goa beach resort at 13.00 hrs. Thereafter, spend some free time at the
beach. Tourists are brought back to the Deccan Odyssey in the evening at
16.15 hrs. The train departs for Kolhapur at 17.15 hrs. Dinner is served on
board.
Day 05 : Kolhapur - Pune
The Deccan Odyssey arrives at Kolhapur Railway Station at 06.00 hrs.
Breakfast is served on board at 07.00 hrs. Thereafter, tourists board the AC
coach to visit some of the famous places in Kolhapur like the New Palace &Museum,
Bhavani Mandap, Mahalaxmi Temple and Shalini Palace. At around 11.30 hrs,
tourists are boarded on the AC coach and brought back to the Deccan Odyssey.
The train departs for its next destination, Pune at 12.00 hrs. Lunch is
served on board. Thereafter, tourists have plenty of free time to do
whatever they like to till the time the train reaches Pune at 19.30 hrs.
Visit the Kelkar Musuem and return back to the Deccan Odyssey. At around
21.15 hrs, tourists board back into the bus and depart for the Pune railway
station. The Deccan Odyssey departs for Aurangabad at 21.45 hrs. Dinner is
served on board.
Day 06 : Aurangabad - Ellora Caves
The
train arrives at the Daulatabad Railway station at 07.30 hrs. Breakfast is
served on board before the train reaches the station. Thereafter, tourists
board an AC bus and depart for local sightseeing. Visit the Daulatabad Fort
and appreciate the sculptures of the Ellora Caves. Return to Aurangabad at
around 12.00 hrs and enjoy a delicious meal. Spend some free time with
yourself and your friends. Later, pay a visit to the Bibi ka Makbara and do
some shopping. Return to the Deccan Odyssey at around 17.15 hrs. From here,
the train leaves for Jalgaon and the Ajanta Caves at around 18.00 hrs.
Dinner is served on board.
Day 07 : Jalgaon- Ajanta Caves - Nasik
The train arrives at the Jalgaon Railway station at 07.30 hrs. Breakfast is
served before that. On arrival, tourists are boarded on an AC coach and
taken straight to the Ajanta Caves. Tourists can explore the marvellous
caves for a while before returning to the Deccan Odyssey at 12.45 hrs. The
train leaves for its next destination, Nasik, at around 13.15 hrs. Lunch is
served on board from 13.30 hrs onward. After lunch, spend some free time.
The train arrives at Nasik station at around 17.00 hrs. Visit the Panchwati
Ghats and Temples. Thereafter, return to the Deccan Odyssey. The luxury
train starts off on a back journey to Mumbai at 22.30 hrs. Dinner is served
on board.
Day 08 : Mumbai
The train arrives in Mumbai at around 07.30 hrs. Breakfast is served on
board. The royal journey on Deccan Odyssey ends here but the memory of it
will stay forever in the hearts and mind of the passengers.
